What inspired this story
Heart of the Griffin was sparked by a simple Instagram post: Why aren't there more fairy tales about gay relationships? I found that idea fascinating. As you read, you might have noticed nods to Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, and the modern dynamic was heavily inspired by the Netflix show Young Royals.
